my business studies lecturer, Ms Sara Seah, gave us a long lecture about 'Paying attention in Class' on last Wednesday. i personally felt that everything she said was true.
To all those taking pre-u courses, if you have the mentality that you can do whatever you want in college just because you're the one paying the fees, you are WRONG! our main aim in college is study and not to just 'jolly kaki' around
IMPORTANT: we have to try our best to pay attention in class. college is totally different from high school. there is no more tuition teachers for us to rely on. that is why we must pay attention in class and try our best to stay focus in class. we'll be studying in college for less than 12 months. so since we have enrolled in the courses, why don't we worked hard for it and strive for excellence. mind you, pre-u is more important than our spm results. pre-u results is the one which will determine which university we can get into based on our UAI(university admission index) according to Ms Sara, if we get like 20-30 for UAI, not a single university would accept us.
her 'lecture' made me realised that i got to do constant revision for my future exams and last-minute study is never going to save me. i hope i have learned from my mistakes; i did last-mins study for business during my first assessment and true enough, my business results was the lowest among my 5 subjects..but the problem is I'm so used to last-mins study..it's really hard for me to change my attitude..as for paying attention in class, i really want to be like my other friends who are able to listen attentively but the problem is I'm always sleepy..
i know that i will need to get at least 80 and above for my UAI if i want to go into the G8 universities in Australia but right now, i have no confidence at all to even get 75. but the same problem again, I'm so lazy and i know that if i don't revise sufficiently, i won't be able to get good results because I'm just an average student..
Will I ever have the determination to instill the study-consistently concept in my mind?.....
p.s. share with me ya if you have any methods to stay focus and not sleepy in class. thanks!
