Malaysia's Independence day

so tmr is Merdeka day, public holiday in Malaysia =) bet most of you will be using this day sleeping till 12noon ( i'll be doing that if i'm back home)

i'm not really a patriotic person so why am i even writing this post?! well, i have to voice out my opinion about something related to Hari Merdeka.

i have friends in Fb writing stuff like " sang Negaraku in adelaide, fell proud but sad" and "let's sing our national anthem together tmr"

And guess what they get for their replies? "why so patriotic? if you're so patriotic, you'll be studying in malaysia and not aussie." and "are you f***ing serious? scr*** malaysia."

i really don't understand why they need to make such mean comments. if you hate malaysia so much, that's your problem. Just shut your damn mouth or migrate to other country. you don't have to stop others from expressing their love for their country.

For me, malaysia has been a place where i had a memorable childhood and great high school years. nothing much to worry about. so, i really 'pandang rendah" on all those people, they make these comments without having the thought that malaysia has actually provided them with a safe and happy place to live for so many years already.

i guess people make such comments because they are associating it with the politics in malaysia.( as in they hate all the orang besar in malaysia's political world)

malaysia is really a nice country with all it's places of attractions ( the islands, highlands..) and rich culture. it would be a great place to live in if there is less corruption( which means we need a clean fresh government), more environmental-friendly( government policy and malaysian's mind set), and lower crime rate( again this depends on the government).

Malaysia is still where my HOME is......

to those who are reading this post, i hope you are not one the brainless people who makes the nasty comments.

malaysian food for you: my favourite roti canai!!

and roti tisu

my personal favourites are the ones from Goodall Food court in Penang
(opposite PCGHS high school)
the roti canai is so so yummy and the roti tisu with banana slices is SUPERB.
i will take a photo of it when i go back to penang and post it up!

my two favourite snacks

STRAWBERRIES AND WERTHER'S ORIGINAL CANDY!

it's the season for strawberries in Aussie now and Coles is selling 2 boxes for $5. it's quite cheap so i bought it for myself. i can finish the whole box in a day =)
tried taking some pics of the strawberries with my sony camera.

i love this picture for no reason.
so succulent! in fact the big fat mutated ones are the good ones. not the nice well-shaped ones
yummy!
i've been eating this back in malaysian but starting to fall in love with it like two weeks ago.
oh, my black lappie makes a nice contrasting background for this pic =)

melbourne part TWO

as we have finished walking all around the city on the 2nd day, we decided to go to the suburbs. so bought the $6.80 daily ticket and off we went to Brighton beach.

reminds me of the poem "the road not taken" from high school

Brighton Bathing boxes
the whole stretch of colourful huts

a closer look at the nice huts, there are like more than 70 huts all together
JUMP SHOTS!  you don't need a DSLR to capture these, just perfect timing
my canon digital camera(rm699, the lowest range) did it =D

I took this! so proud of myself hahaha!

had this toasted Turkish bread with ham and tasty cheese at the nearby cafe

went to St kilda after that...

Luna Park
it's theme park
we went in to have a look only, so it's FREE

there was a street in St Kilda which has quite a number of cake shops
i'm like "it looks so yummy!" but didn't try any cos we too "kiam siap" d

only had these. shared by 3, $2.50 each. i love latte art
Monarch Cakes

Mediacorp artistes, Christopher Lee and Cynthia had a filming session in that cafe before

Met up with fay's friends who are studying in Monash Uni.had dinner at a korean restaurant(so called famous among the students). so so. MadTongsan in Brisbane tastes much better, i think the one i had in Penang is better,so didn't bother to out up the pics.

the last day: took the free city circle tram to Docklands

had sushi rolls for lunch before taking the flight back.
you'll be able to see many sushi shops in every corner of melbourne
tonnes of pics on FB.
our one silly act in Melbourne: we left our hotel room key outside one night, forgotten to take it in. then as we were chatting at night, someone knocked on our door, we were so scared to open the door(my heart was pumping so FAST). the next morning, couldn't find the key. so i suddenly remembered "maybe yesterday the person was kind to remind us bout our key but we didn't open the door" went to the lobby, the key was with them! how KIND of that person. one good point of aussies. =)

BYE BYE MELBOURNE!
this metropolitan city indeed offers alot of Asian cuisines but as i have said,we were too kiam siap to eat all those yummy food. imagine, if i were to come with my family, i will definitely spend a bomb on food with my dad who loves to eat!

thinking too much?

I have been thinking alot
about friendship and things along those lines..
people i can trust.
friends whom i'm sure will be around for me when i need them
i feel like i give more than i get.
ahh, i don't know how to explain further.
sometimes i just join in cos' i don't want to be left out
why am i so prone to follow the crowd?
where is 'ME'?
guess i'm just being over sensitive,
guess i'm expecting too much from my friendships with them...

I gotta learn to be strong
learn not to depend too much on others
start to think of their goodness instead of their flaws
should i just make "to give more than to get" as my life philosophy?
but if i were to do so, then i would be taken advantage of.
AHHH!
we'll just see how things progress
it's thursday night, i'm lazing cos' i have no classes on friday!

i've been really sleepy lately, of unknown reason..i only have like a maximum of 4-5 hours( not continuously some more) of lecture/classes a day and i'm already so tired. HSC in Inti back then was much worse.(8am-4pm) and all the workload was scary. but i survived! so i should be doing better in uni right? hmmm...

the courses i'm taking for this semester are more math-based, like SERIOUSLY.

i told myself i have to study tonight but end up facebooking and msn-ing. see, never ending procrastination.

I NEED TO DISCIPLINE MYSELF!
